Maidstone House
The Project.
Maidstone House in Maidstone is home to the council offices and several local businesses. In 2019 we were asked to provide a heating and cooling solution for the ground floor office renovation.
The scope was to provide an efficient and reliable solution for a flexible working space designed to host multiple small businesses with varying requirements.
The Solution.
Our solution was to provide a VRF system with 22 ceiling cassette units for the offices allowing for simultaneous heating and cooling owing the the different aspects of the office receiving varying degrees of heat gain and loss.
We integrated a supply and extract ventilation system into this to provide fresh air on to each fan coil whilst extracting the stale air as the office contains no openable windows.
The System
As well as the 22 ceiling cassette units the project involved the installation of the VRF condenser in an external plant area, an extensive ventilation system supplying fresh air and removing stale air and a new hot and cold water system to the revitalised kitchen and breakout area.
The VRF system is connected to an Daikin intelligent iTouch controller allowing centralised control and connection to the buildings main BMS system, the units can be programmed and monitored remotely and the building managers can be altered if any faults occur.
Value.
This project came in around £100k and took place over a 9 week period coming in on time and on budget. Owing to the success of this project we were recently asked to undertake the works relating to the renovation of the first floor office at Maidstone House however owing to the growing strength of our renewables department we are currently unable to undertake this work.
